Ah, the Flowbee and the Robocut – the two names that you’d associate with alternative hair styling. Whilst both brands have had some success through the years, recently Flowbee is by far the more popular product of the two.
In recent years, Robocut has declined in popularly whilst Flowbee has only stayed at the same level of users. For this reason, it’s likely that the Flowbee is going to be your best option now days – the brand has been around for ages now, so you can be assured they’ll get the job done.
Though the two systems are very similar, there are a few differences between them that may effect whether you decide to opt for one system over the other. Lets take a look at the Flowbee and the Robocut to try and work out which one would be a better option for your needs.
Flowbee
What is a Flowbee? Well, it hit news and you’ve probably seen the infomercials online. One of the most annoying things about cutting hair is the residing hairs that cover your neck, t shirt and floor after you’ve finished cutting. The Flowbee gives the user a unique resolution to this; a suction mechanism, a vacuum, that sucks up all of the hairs whilst you’re using the trimmer.
- Quickly attaches to Most Vacuums with Ease
- Save Hundreds of Dollars in Haircuts
- A Perfect Cut Every Time. Great for The Entire Family
- This Product has Manufacturer's warranty. So please contact Manufacturer if any issue.
- Vacuum not included. Spacer color may vary.This product is for human being only. It's not suggested for pets.
This helps dramatically to reduce any need for clean up after you’ve finished trimming your hair – in fact, you shouldn’t need to clean up at all. If you’re fed up of having to take a shower after every haircut, then the Flowbee is something that you may want to consider.
Essentially, the Flowbee sucks your hair into the trimmer and ensure that all of your hair is the same length. If you want a look at the Flowbee in action, here’s a video tutorial of how to use it;
Though the Flowbee is often thought of as a joke system, it is actually used by many people as it actually works. It’s less like a hair cut, and more like a hair maintenance system that you can use. It’s not ideal for those that focus a lot on their hair style or how their hair look, but if you’re just looking for a simple way to keep your hair the same length without hassle, then you can consider the Flowbee.
The Flowbee is a good idea if your scalp is particularly sensitive to metals. Many clippers are made up of aluminium, which some people find irritates them scalp. This is especially true with short hair clippers, as they can be quite rough against the scalp. You don’t need to worry about this with the Flowbee.
If you have complex and curly hair, then the Flowbee might not be for you. It isn’t going to work as well as a set of hair clippers. It’s best suited for those with straight, easy to cut hair. If this is you, then you may want to consider using the Flowbee. It’s ideal for kids and older people who don’t want to regularly go out and get their hair cut.
Many people also use the Flowbee for their pets, although the company themselves do not recommend that you do this. It’s up to you if you do want to do this, as essentially the Flowbee was designed for humans – but many people find it works better for their pet than a regular set of clippers.
Robocut
Robocut is another hair option if you’re looking to cut hair at home. In the past, it has been of one, if not the most popular variation of this type of hair cutting system. Though in recent years, it’s seen a massive decline and you’ll struggle to find much information about it online. In my opinion, you’re better off sticking with the Flowbee but we’ll look into the RoboCut and how it works.
There are some benefits to using the Robocut over the Flowbee, which include;
- Works for a great range of hair – Whilst the Flowbee works for hair length between half an inch to 6 inches, the Robocut works for ranges from a quarter of an inch all the way to a whopping 24 inches.
- Quieter – One of the biggest complaints you’ll find about the Flowbee is that it’s particularly noisy. Although the Robocut is also noisy, it isn’t as noisy as the Flowbee.
- Portable – You don’t want to be dragging the entire Flowbee system around with you all the time – it’s not exactly portable. The Robocut however, is easily portable and you’ll be able to pack it up and take it around with you wherever you go.
Here’s a quick video to cover how the Robocut works;
Conclusion
Overall, these are the two leading options in vacuum hair cutting products that you’re currently able to purchase on the market. There aren’t many, if any, other options available on the market.
Whilst in the past the Robocut came highly recommended, in recent years it has declined in popularity and if you look at online reviews, you’ll see a lot of people stating that it has declined in quality. For this reason, it’s clear to see that the Flowbee is the leader in the market at the moment – the majority of people that are purchasing the Flowbee are happy with their product, so it’s the clear leader in that regard.
If you’re looking for a good way to keep your hair short with little maintenance, then it’s definitely worth considering looking into purchasing a Flowbee. It’s an easy and unique way to keep your hair short easily, without the mess of using a set of clippers.
