Keranique vs Rogaine Shampoo

Keranique and Rogaine are two of the big hitters in the hair loss market. If you’re experiencing hair loss and have been researching it, then you’ve undoubtedly come across these two names. But how do they really compare to each other – is one significantly better than the other, or are they relatively similar?

Simply put, these products are extremely similar in the way that they both use minoxidil as their primary hair loss ingredient – though Rogaine has a higher concentration of the hair loss drug.

As you might expect, normal Rogaine has 50mg of minoxidil for every gram of product (you might have guessed that from the 5% name). You can also find 2% Rogaine, but this is considered to be less effective and more appropriate for women and people with sensitive scalps.

The amount if minoxidil in Keranique is significantly less than this, though Keranique do not state the amount of minoxidil that you’ll find in their products. Like many other minoxidil shampoos, the amount of actually effective hair loss product in their shampoo is questionable.

Keranique vs Rogaine – How to Apply

Fortunately, it is relatively easy to apply each of these products to your scalp. Depending on the minoxidil that you buy – foam or regular – you’ll either have to squirt a few drops of product onto your scalp, or rub a small amount of foam onto your scalp (I prefer the foam myself).

  • Made with 5% Minoxidil foam, the Rogaine hair thinning treatment works as a no-mess foam that penetrates the scalp to reactivate shrunken hair follicles to help with hair regrowth for men.
  • This men's hair loss treatment is fast-working and clinically proven to regrow up to 25% more hair by working to boost hair follicle activity and hair protein production. It includes botanical extracts and emollient to help maintain a healthy scalp.

With Keranique, you’ll get 4 different products to use for your hair. You’ll get shampoos and conditioners to use, and you’ll also get an ‘after the shower’ spray that they recommend you spray onto your hair post shower. You’ll also get another spray to use later in the evening.

For this reason, it’s pretty easy to see that Rogaine wins on an ‘ease of use’ scale – it’s considerably easier to use than Keranique.

Side Effects

Though the side effects of both of these products is relatively minimal, you will find that you may experience some adverse feeling when using these products.

Rogaine

With Rogaine, you are more likely to experience headaches. This is because the high concentration of the drug promotes blood circulation in your head, which in turn has been said to increase the likelihood of headaches.

Some people that have used Rogaine have also reported experiencing an itchy, flaking scalp. This is a common side effect of a lot of hair loss products, as some people just don’t work with certain formulas.

Another particularly concerning side effect that some people have experienced from using Rogaine is weight gain, though the people experiencing weight gain seems to be minimal.

Keranique

As keranique contains minoxidil as Rogaine does, you’re exposed to all of the same side effects as you would be using either product.

It’s worth mentioning a few other side effects that you might experience from either of these products. Another side effect that many people experience from minoxidil is chest pains and an increasing heart rate. Though much of the research behind this is still unknown, it’s though that this is related to the increase of blood circulation throughout the body.

There is also the possibility of other symptoms related to anxiety – some people have reported feeling dizzy and lightheaded after starting to use Keranique and Rogaine. It is difficult to tell whether these are symptoms related to the product itself or another issue.

Conclusion

If you are considering using either of these two products, then I advise you do a little more research into which one would work best for me. Personally, I would prefer to use the high concentrated Rogaine as opposed to Keranique – it has a better track record and a longer life span within the hair loss industry. The Rogaine name speaks for itself, which is why it’s still extremely popular today.

Lipogaine vs Rogaine

Rogaine, also known as minoxidil, is one of the better known methods for helping to prevent hair loss in men experiencing male pattern baldness. The majority of people will have heard of Rogaine at some point in their lifetime. But what about Lipogaine? Is it as effective as Rogaine and can it be used as an alternative, or are you better off sticking with minoxidil?

If you didn’t know, Lipogaine is essentially a shampoo blend that works to support minoxidil. This makes it easy to apply to your hair. But, it may be less effective than using Rogaine because it doesn’t contain minoxidil.

That’s right – it’s very hard to compare these two as one of the main ingredients, and reasons that Lipogaine works, is that it contains 5% minoxidil. There’s no denying or arguing that Rogaine is one of the most effective hair loss products currently on the market – the only real competitor in terms of size is finasteride.

Rogaine

Rogaine has been the go to hair loss product for over 20 years now – so much so, that many people use the term Rogaine as a general name for the actual chemical, Minoxidil.

  • Men's hair growth treatment also contains botanical extracts and emollient to help maintain a healthy, conditioned scalp, plus alphahydroxy acid (AHA) to promote natural skin exfoliation to help keep follicles open

The reason that Rogaine works so well is that in helps to increase the circulation of blood flowing through the scalp (this is also one of the reasons it’s primary side effects is headaches!). This extra circulation helps blood to flow to your hair follicles, which in turn spurs growth. The other side effects that you may experience from using Rogaine include weight gain and an itchy scalp.

Though in spite of these possible side effects, Rogaine still proves to be one of the most popular methods of promoting hair growth and dealing with male pattern baldness today. But what about Lipogaine?

Lipogaine

Lipogaine was created to help deal with the hassle of applying Rogaine twice daily. This is one of the more common complaints about minoxidil – you have to continuously apply it until you’re ready to accept balding (which is totally normal, for the record).

  • Enriched with vitamins and castor oil to rejuvenate scalp, supports healthy and vibrant hair.
  • Natural ingredients based, free of harsh chemicals, for all skin types, 16 OZ large bottle

Lipogaine contains Minoxidil 5%, which is the best option for people looking to tackle male pattern baldness. Along with minoxidil, Lipogaine also contains a lot of other hair loss products which will have an effect on your hair. These include;

  • Keratin – Keratin treatments are extremely popular for hair loss, so including some keratin is a no brainer. This is especially true seeing as your hair is made up of a large portion of keratin.
  • Argan Oil – Argan oil is pretty commonly used to help treat scalp conditions, which is one of the main reasons you’ll find it in the majority of hair loss shampoos. Often, temporary hair loss can be caused by an underlying condition.
  • Jojoba Oil – Although the research on the effectiveness of jojoba oil is minimal, it’s still thought to be a good benefits to add to hair loss formulas. This is because it’s great for dealing with a dry scalp and helps to reduce the chance of getting dandruff.
  • Biotin – Having a biotin deficiency is proven to have an effect on the quality of your hair. Making sure you get enough biotin in your diet is essential, and if you aren’t eating enough biotin naturally, then a supplement can make sense.

Do minoxidil shampoos like Lipogaine even work?

It’s debatable as to whether minoxidil shampoos even work to their full potential when they are diluted significantly. There’s little research to back up how effective that minoxidil shampoos can really be.

The main reason that there is an issue with minoxidil shampoos is that to really work, minoxidil needs to be applied to your head for an extended period of time. If you’re using your shampoo in the shower, then there’s a good chance that you’re going to wash some of the formula off of your scalp before it really gets the chance to have an effect on your head.

Conclusion

For the main reason that minoxidil shampoos are likely to be less effective than the real thing, I’d be inclined to opt for Rogaine as opposed to Lipogaine. Although there are many people who say that Lipogaine worked well for them, there are far more positive reviews of people who have used Rogaine successfully. There’s a reason it’s one of the big three hair loss products along with Fin and Nizoral – it just works!

If you’re looking for a good way to mitigate any further hair loss and actually have a standing chance at fighting baldness, then I’d advise to opt for Rogaine out of these two options.

Nioxin vs Rogaine – Which works best?

Nioxin and Rogaine are two of the most popular hair loss products around, and you’ll like find people that are on both sides of the argument. It’s not easy to know the difference between the two, so here we’ll have a look through what the best one will be for you.

Nioxin vs Rogaine – A Quick Roundup

The main difference that you’ll want to consider between these two products is that Rogaine is great for those experiencing male pattern baldness, whilst Nioxin is better for those experiencing thinner hair.

It’s a common misconception about Nioxin that it works well for male pattern baldness, but if you head over to their website then they make no such claim! Nioxin is aimed at those experiencing temporary and thin hair; not permanent hair loss.

Rogaine, or Minoxidil as it’s known scientifically, is designed to help prevent male pattern baldness. This means that it’s a great option if you’re a guy, but it isn’t targeted at those experiencing temporary hair loss at all.

This is the main difference between the two, but there are several other differences and we’ll have a closer look at what the real differences are between the two.

Nioxin

Like I mentioned, Nioxin is used for those experiencing hair thinness. You shouldn’t just opt to use it if you’re experiencing hair loss; you could consult your salon or barbers beforehand to see what type of Nioxin you see.

Type of Nioxin, I hear you ask? Well, yes actually. There are various different types of Nioxin, which vary dependant on what you hair is currently like. For example, Nioxin 1 is ideal for those with thin and wispy hair, whereas Nioxin 6 is better for thick and coarse hair. If you want to know a little more about the scale of each Nioxin, then have a look here.

If you have fine hair, then Nioxin may be the option for you. It’s a pretty simple option for a hair loss solution that you can try without the adverse side effects that are sometimes associated with other hair loss products. I think it’s important to note that Nioxin are a relatively old brand, with over 30 years of experience in the market. This could indicate that this brand really helps to improve the thickness of your hair. I mean, if they were a shoddy brand, would they really have lasted this amount of time and been bought by major corporation Proctor and Gamble over 10 years ago? I very much doubt it.

Rogaine (Minoxidil)

Whilst I commend Nioxin for being in the hair loss industry for a super long time, you also have to consider the same things about Rogaine. It’s over 20 years old, and has really stood the test of time, which speaks volumes about the product itself. Another thing to consider is that the Rogaine name is essentially the same as Minoxidil, although Minoxidil is the chemical term for it, many people just refer to it as Rogaine nowadays anyway.

Anywho, Rogaine is a more permanent solution for hair loss that you’ll want to consider if your shedding hair is the result of genetics.

Side Effects you may experience

The good thing about both of these products is that the side effects are pretty minimal. This is especially true if you consider them with a hair loss product like Finasteride (have a look at why I’d never use Finasteride here!).

Minoxidil Side Effects

  • Inflammation – Some people experience redness of the scalp when they try Minoxidil for the first time, or inflammation. If you do experience this, then you should stop using it immediately.
  • Headaches – One of the less common side effects of Minoxidil is headaches, which is reported by a very small amount of users. This is likely because of the increase in blood flow that your body isn’t necessarily use to.
  • Weight Gain – Again, it’s hard to be sure on which of these side effects are actually caused by Minoxidil and which are just a circumstance of living or caused elsewhere. Personally, I wouldn’t imagine that Minoxidil has the ability to make you gain weight, but that’s my personal opinion.

Nioxin Side Effects

  • Flakes/Dandruff – A flaky head and dandruff are the most commonly reported side effects of using Nioxin, which are relatively mild when you compare them to some of the side effects of other products.
  • Itchy Scalp – It seems that some people just tend to react to Nioxin negatively, leaving them with an itchy red scalp after prolonged use.
  • Remaining Hair becomes dry – When you’re using Nioxin, it’s best used on those who have minimal hair loss as you’re not going to be growing any hair back. Some users report the issue of their remaining hair becoming dry, which is probably because the Nioxin eliminates a lot of oils from your scalp.

Application

It’s really hard to compare these two, as they’re not really made for the same purpose. For this reason, I can’t really say one is better than the other. I mean with the Nioxin, you’re only really using it as a shampoo, so you’re unlikely to notice any difference (unless you’re a scruff that never uses shampoo!).

I will say however, that using Rogaine is not ideal by any means. Apply something to your head every day for the rest of our life? No thanks, I’d rather polish my head in the bowling ball machine than do that.

Conclusion

To conclude, comparison Rogaine with Nioxin is kind of like comparing apples and oranges – you use them both for different things. If you have thinning hair, you’ll want to opt for Nioxin. If you’re experiencing male pattern baldness, then you’ll definitely want to look at Rogaine or another alternative. If you’re going to go for Rogaine, then you should definitely go for the real product and not for something like a minoxidil shampoo, which has no real proof that it works.

Nizoral Hair Loss Shampoo Review

If you’re dealing with dandruff and you’re considering using Nizoral, then look no further. This is a comprehensive review that will help you to learn whether you should consider using Nizoral specifically for hair loss.

What is Nizoral?

Nizoral is often defined as an anti dandruff shampoo, but it has many more used than just that. Its often given as a cream to treat fungal infections, too. You would have found it in tablet form, but that’s far less common than it has been in the past.

But for our interests, we’re interested in Nizoral Shampoo as a hair loss agent. I’ve even seen people talking about Nizoral used as an acne cure, so it’s really a multi use wonder drugs.

It’s true name is Ketoconazole – Nizoral is just the most common brand name of this. Much like Minoxidil is known as Rogaine, or Finasteride is known as Propecia. Speaking of which, these ‘Big 3‘ are often used in conjuction with each other to give optimum hair loss prevention results.

How Does Nizoral Work?

There’s a lot more research for how Nizoral works for anti fungal methods, with less concern for how it’s used to treat hair loss. But, there is research that suggests that the anti fungal elements in Nizoral helps promote hair growth.

I know what you’re thinking; so Nizoral works for dandruff and anti fungal stuff, but what about hair loss? Well, the idea actually comes from an experiment. In the experiment, Nizoral was tested on mice. The mice developed excessive hair growth, in turn showing that Nizoral can indeed stimulate hair growth.

The results on humans are less conclusive. There is little evidence that Nizoral Shampoo will have a massive effect on your hair growth, but there are some who swear that it has made a massive difference for them. In the study linked to above, the majority of participants had some positive effect on their hair growth, which at least makes Nizoral an option, although perhaps not the best.

Positives of Using a Nizoral Shampoo

There are a few reasons that Nizoral has become increasingly popular, especially as an options for those looking for a hair loss shampoo. These are;

Ease of Use – I think that this is the main reason that Nizoral shampoo has become so popular as a hair loss method. You really don’t need to change your current routine, and just replace your current shampoo with a Nizoral one.

Relatively Cheap – Nizoral Shampoo isn’t too much more expensive than regular shampoo. This makes it a pretty good option if you need something that has the potential to work without leaving your bank empty. Though Minoxidil is more proven to work, you’re likely to rack up thousands and thousands of dollars using it over the course of your life – this isn’t the case with Nizoral.

Lack of extreme side effects  – Another reason that Nizoral has become increasingly popular is that the side effects that you might experiences are relatively mild. This is in comparison to other hair loss products on the market.

This doesn’t meant that using Nizoral is completely without risk, and there is the possibility of experiencing some side effects when using Nizoral.

Nizoral Side Effects

One of the good things about using Nizoral is that it doesn’t come with the same risky side effects that you’d find with other hair loss medications like Finasteride. There are however, a few side effects that you need to be aware of;

Skin Irritation – This is the most common side effect of using Nizoral Shampoo. Whilst it’s generally a pretty mild feeling for most, sometimes certain products just won’t work for you. For most, Nizoral won’t cause irritation but there are some cases where people have reported irritation.

Dry Skin – When you deal with skin irritation, you’re likely to notice that your skin is drying out too. The irony is that Nizoral is trying to hep the health of your hair, but some people have experienced dry skin from using Nizoral.

Allergic Reactions – Like most hair products, there is the chance that you’ll risk having an allergic reaction to some of the ingredients that the product contains.

Overall, you can see that the side effects that you might experience from using Nizoral pale in comparison when compared to other hair loss products.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I wouldn’t consider using Nizoral Hair Loss Shampoo on it’s own. It doesn’t have the scientific backing that other hair loss products have – if you’re going to invest in something, surely you would something scientifically proven to give results?

Whilst Nizoral may have a positive effect on hair growth, this certainly isn’y definitely. The likelihood is that you won’t notice much of an effect from using Nizoral on it’s own, so if you are going to use it, pair it up with some other hair loss products for best effect.

Elchim 2001 vs 3900

In terms of good value hair dryers, Elchim are one of the best known brands out there. they produce a lot of decent quality hairdryers at a pretty fair price. Two of their most popular models are the Elchim 2001 and the Elchim 3900.

Though these are both undoubtedly good quality models, it can be very difficult to know which one is best. The Italian brand have won several awards for their high quality hairdryers, especially for these two popular models. But between the Elchim 2100 and the 3900, which one would make a better choice as a hairdryer for your house?

Elchim 2001 vs 3900

Elchim 2100

The 2100 is listed as Elchim’s classic hairdryer, and it’s been one of their most popular models over the last decade. Though the brand itself has become particularly popular over the past few years, it actually has a long and prestigious history dating back to the end of the second world war.

But anyway, what about the performance of the 2001? Well if you’re after a basic hairdryer that’s a level above what’s currently available, then it’s going to make a decent option.

Whilst it only has two different speeds, it actually has five different options in terms of temperature. This means that if you need a really hot hairdryer, then this is likely to make a really good choice for you. And on the opposite end of the spectrum if you want a cooler blow dry, then this is also possible.

The 2001 is a powerful option, and if that’s what you’re looking for in a hairdryer, then this model definitely isn’t going to let you down on that regard. It’s extremely popular as a hairdryer, both for home use but also for using within a salon environment too. If this isn’t testament to it’s ability as a powerful hairdryer, then I don’t know what is!

One of the negatives about the 2001 is that it doesn’t have a cold option – this isn’t likely to be useful for the majority of people, but for some people that like to have the possibility of cold air coming out of their hairdryer. So, it does get a mark down for that reason. But overall, it’s a pretty decent hairdryer, if a little expensive for what you’re getting.

Elchim 3900

If you’re looking to go a step up from the 2100, then the 3900 is a better option for those that have a little more cash. It has more power than the 2100, so if you’re looking for something that can dry your hair that little bit faster, then the 3900 might prove to be a good choice.

The Elchim 3900 a good choice due to it’s high power, especially if you have thicker hair than most. Not only because it’s an extremely powerful hair dryer, but also because it has two focus nozzles. This allows you to easily narrow down the air onto whichever area of your wet hair you want to, which can help you speed up the time it takes to dry.

All in all, whilst the 3900 is a decent quality hair dryer, it doesn’t quite match up to some others out there in my opinion (the Dyson Supersonic and the ghd Air spring to mind as better options).

Conclusion

Overall, both the Elchim 2100 and the Elchim 3900 would make a good choice for the majority of households. If you aren’t entirely sure which one would make a better option for you, then generally the 2100 is a better option for those that want something standard and cheap, whereas the 3900 proves to be the better choice for those that want the ultimate in hair drying.

Best Tea Tree Oil Shampoo

If you’re looking for the best tea tree oil shampoo, then you’re in the right place. Tea tree oil can have many benefits for your hair (which I’ll talk about later in the article!), so it’s worth considering adding tea tree oil to your daily grooming regiment.

There are a lot of different tea tree oils currently available on the market – so many so that it can be really difficult to know which one is best. So, if you’re considering purchasing a tea tree oil shampoo, what are the differences between them all? Well, lets take a look at some of the best tea tree oil shampoos that are currently available.

Best Tea Tree Oil Shampoo

Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Oil Shampoo

Paul Mitchell has one of the biggest varieties of tea tree oils available. There’s a ton of different options that you can find online, and one of their best is this special tea tree oil shampoo.

This is a gentle shampoo that’s design to essentially cleanse your hair without stripping it of it’s natural moisture. One common problem that people have with their hair and scalp is that it produces too much oil – a good shampoo like this one can help to cleanse the scalp of any excess sebum, which gives you hair a good environment for it to grow in.

As I said, Paul Mitchell have a really wide variety of different options online that are currently available. Another one of their better ones is their anti thinning shampoo, which can help to increase the volume of your hair.

Maple Holistics

Pure Tea Tree Oil Shampoo - Natural Essential Oil Anti-Dandruff Shampoo For Dry Itchy & Flaky Scalp - Anti-fungal & Anti-Bacterial - Sulfate Free Hydrating Cleanser - Prevent Head Lice & Thinning Hair

If you’re thinking about buying any sort of shampoo, it’s a good idea to see what Maple Holistics have in store first. For rejuvenating shampoos, they tend to lead the market and produce some of the best options available. Plus, they tend to be relatively cheap too so you don’t need to worry about the financial cost either.

This tea tree oil shampoo is specifically designed for those that have a dry and flaky scalp. A flaking scalp is a common issue that people have to deal with – dandruff is a mild form of seborrheic dermatitis, which is something that tea tree oil works against. So for flaky hair in particular, tea tree oil can be a godsend. Keeping the scalp moisturized is essential for getting rid of flaky skin, which this shampoo helps to do.

Another good thing about Maple Holistics is that they put a lot of effort into ensuring that their products do not contain any sort of sulfates or parabens. If you deal with an itchy scalp, then this might be the best option for you to fight against this.

Honeyskin Organics

Tea Tree Oil Shampoo & Conditioner Set - with Manuka Honey, Stem Cell & Coconut - Dandruff & Hair Loss Treatment - Soothes Itchy Scalp & Hair Thickening - Paraben & Sulfate Free - Made in USA (16oz)

Honeyskin Organics are another brand that you’ll want to think about if you’re looking for a decent quality shampoo. They make some high quality stuff, and although this tea tree oil shampoo is a little bit more expensive than what you might expect, but it’s worth it if you have the extra cash.

As well as tea tree oil, this shampoo does include a variety of other ingredients which are good for your scalp too. It contains coconut oil, which is known for keeping your hair thick and shiny, as well as raw manuka honey, which has a variety of different benefits for your hair too.

This is another good shampoo if you’re looking for something that’s going to cleanse your scalp, which is important if you’re trying to clear up dandruff or flaky hair.

Giovanni Triple Treat

giovanni-tea-tree-oil

If you’re looking for a cheaper option, then it might be worth considering this Giovanni Triple Treat tea tree oil shampoo. It’s much cheaper than the majority of other shampoos available, so it might make sense to opt for this one if you’re trying to save some cash. This is a good shampoo if you’re looking for something that can rejuvenate the scalp and help increase circulation, which is important for maintaining a healthy head of hair.

Personally, I would mix this one up and use it in alternation with another shampoo for best effect. But, it’s definitely one of the best options out there if you’re looking for cheap tea tree oil shampoo.

Art Naturals Shampoo

ArtNaturals Tea-Tree-Oil Shampoo and Conditioner Set - (2 x 16 Fl Oz / 473ml) – Sulfate Free – Therapeutic Grade Tea Tree Essential Oil - Deep Cleansing for Dandruff, Dry Scalp and Itchy Hair

Another good option for a tea tree oil shampoo is this one made by Art Naturals. They produce a wide variety of different shampoos available, and this one is one of their better ones.

This is a shampoo and conditioner set which is intended to replace your entire haircare regime – it comes in two large bottles. It’s excellent for cleansing the scalp, and like the name ‘ArtNaturals’ insinuates, it’s entirely free of anything bad. It’s paraben free, cruelty free, vegan friendly and all of the organic ingredients are ethically sourced, making it a great choice for anyone who cares about the environment.

Although the majority of people get tea tree oil to try and deal with flakes and dandruff, this isn’t the only benefits of using it. It’s also great for kids at keeping lice away, which can be one of the most annoying issues for any young child to deal with. Tea tree oil repels lice, so it’s a good option to pick up a shampoo like this one if you’re trying to get rid of them.

Honeydew Peppermint Tea Tree Oil

Tea Tree Peppermint Moisturizing Shampoo with Organic Mint and Jojoba Oil (8 oz) - Color Safe and Sulfate Free for Kids, Women and Men - 100% Money-back Guaranteed and USA Made By Honeydew Products

If you like peppermint as much as I do, then you’ll want to consider this Honeydew Peppermint tea tree oil shampoo. It works extremely well and even if you use hair dye in your hair, you don’t need to worry about this rinsing it out, as it works well with colored hair.

Baebody Shampoo

Baebody Tea Tree Oil Shampoo - Helps Fight Dandruff, Dry Hair and Itchy Scalp. For Men and Women. 16 fl oz.

If you want a blend of tea tree oil an a variety of other oils as well, this it might be worth checking out this Baebody shampoo. It has a variety of different things in it which make it worth considering for those that need a shampoo that’s filled with goodness.

Conclusion

Overall, this is just a short list of some of the better tea tree oil shampoos that you can currently find online. Though there are a lot more out there, there isn’t much difference between the top quality ones and you’ll just want to ensure that they contain an adequate amount of tea tree oil. A good tea tree oil shampoo can be fantastic for the scalp, so if you’re having issues with flakes and dandruff, it’s undoubtedly worth looking at getting yourself a good shampoo like one of these.

Best Curling Wands and Irons for Fine Hair

If you’re looking for a curling iron, then there are a lot of different products out there that are currently available. It can be really difficult to know which one is going to be best for you depending on what type of hair that you have. This is especially true if you have fine hair, as you’ll want to opt for something that’s gentle enough and won’t cause any damage.

So, if you’re looking for a good curling iron, is one of them much better than the other? Or are they all relatively similar in terms of their specifications? Well, lets take a look at what options are available if you’re looking for a good curling iron specifically for fine hair.

Best Curling Wands and Irons for Fine Hair

If you’re looking for a curling wand or iron, then you’ll likely want to consider some of these options. If you aren’t sure of the difference between the two, then the main thing you need to understand is what they’re used for. If you want to create real curls and ringlets in your hair, then a curling iron is the better choice. But if you want to create gentler curves and waves in your hair, then a curling wand is the better choice of the two. Either way, they both have their benefits if you’re going to use them to style your hair.

So, lets check out some of my favorite options, especially if you have fine hair like me!

Babyliss Pro Titanium Expression

The Babyliss Titanium Expression is a good example of one of Babyliss’s best curling tongs. If you want a solid iron with an easy to use design, then this is one of the best options out there.

The Expression is essentially a salon quality curler that’s available to anyone and makes a great choice for those looking for something high quality. It’s not particularly expensive either, so it’s definitely worth look at it if you’re after a curler at a good price. It’s perfect for creating waves throughout your hair, and with it’s 11 different temperature settings, you can be sure that it won’t be too hot. This is important if you have fine hair, as using a wand that’s too hot with fine hair can result in damage.

It heats up really quickly, and it’s pretty much ideal for all different hair types. So, it’s definitely worth considering if you’re looking for one of the best curling wands around.

Diva Professional Styling Wand

If you’re looking for something kind to your hair, especially if it’s particularly fine or damaged, then you might want to consider the Diva Professional Styling Wand. It has a very unique design which makes it stand out, and although it might not look like the most effective wand around, it’s undoubtedly a decent choice for most people.

One thing that sets the Diva Professional Wand apart from the rest of the models here is that it’s Argan Oilinfused. This means that when you’re styling your hair, it will naturally infuse your hair with oils to help keep it shiny and healthy, which makes it great for those looking to keep their hair looking great. It’s ideal for all different types of hair, so it’s definitely worth adding this one to your list of possible hair curlers.

ghd Curve – Best Curling Tong

ghd-curve

The ghd Curve is one of Good Hair Days classic models, and for anyone looking for a curling tong it should always be in consideration.

There are a few reasons why I like the ghd Curve in particular. Firstly, it really allows you to create traditional curls with ease due to the way that it’s designed. With wands, it can be difficult to create anything more than wavy hair, and with curling irons, sometimes they can be a little too harsh on your hair. For people with finer hair, you really don’t want to run the risk of damaging it through using something too hot.

ghd try and make all their products to a 185 degree heat, which is what they claim is the ideal heat to keep your hair healthy. So, with it’s high quality design and ideal curling temperature, it’s definitely worth considering adding this set of curling tongs to your collection.

Cloud Nine Waving Wand

If you want one of the best wands around, then in my opinion you can’t go wrong with this Cloud 9 Waving Wand. The brand themselves are undoubtedly one of the best around, and although they aren’t as well known as some of the bigger brands, they’ve become one of the more popular in recent years.

The barrel of this design is relatively short, but that doesn’t mean you’re going to want to rule this one out. It’s one of the better models released if you’re looking for something with various different temperature levels, as it has a unique system that it uses to regulate the temperature (ideal for fine hair!). It’s really ideal if you want to use it to create a wavy look. Here’s a great tutorial video;

Babyliss Tight Curl Wand

If you’re looking for a small wand that’s capable of producing some pretty awesome ringlets, then you’ll undoubtedly want to look at the Babyliss Tight Curl Wand. It’s small enough that it makes it a good option if you’re looking for something that’s really portable, as it allows you to easily fit it into your luggage without much concern. So for those that need something whilst they’re travelling, this might make an awesome choice.

Smaller wands generally make a good choice for people that are looking for something that can create ultra wavy hair. The good thing about this model is that it’s small enough that you can easily use it to create ringlets too, which is more difficult with bigger wands. So, if you want the ability to create waves and small ringlets, then this model might be a good choice.

What to consider before purchasing

Before you purchase a wand or a curling iron, there are likely a few things that you’ll want to consider. Doing this can ensure that you get the best deal for your needs.

Price

The price of the product is always going to be something you’ll have to take into account no matter what. A lot of the cheaper wands and irons can actually be bad for your hair, so make sure that you get one that’s of a decent quality. A good way to ensure this is by opting for bigger brands like ghd and Babyliss, who already make some of the best models around.

Brand

Like I’ve just mentioned, you can’t really go wrong with brands like ghd and Babyliss. But, that doesn’t mean that you need to stick with these two. There are some newer brands that are coming on the market that you should also be aware of too, so it’s definitely worth checking these brands out as well.

Style

Probably the most important thing to consider when you’re purchasing a curling wand or iron. Depending on exactly what it is that you want, one of these is likely to be a much better choice for you than the other. So depending on exactly what it is that you need, you should consider whether to get a standard curling iron (best for ringlets), a big curling wand (best for wavy hair) or a miniature wand (best for portability).

Conclusion

Overall, this is just a small list of some of the best curling irons and wands that are currently available. Depending on where you go to purchase these different models, you’ll might find slightly different prices – but generally, they’re usually found at the same retail price at the majority of websites online. It’s worth doing your research before buying a curling wand, because this can make it a lot easier to style your hair yourself instead of visiting a salon.
